Camp description:
Campers are invited to birth and become a monster! Monsters are all around us and within us. They can be playful, scary, silly… anything! Monsters are filled with endless possibilities… just like humans! With a focus on using found + recycled materials, including cardboard and upcycled textiles, Lexy will guide campers through creating their own wearable monster mask. We will celebrate their creations with a Monster Fashion Show at the end of the week!
WAIVER: This form must be completed before the start of camp. https://forms.gle/ffVocSGkCjfZZnUM7
If tuition costs are a barrier to participation, we invite you to complete a scholarship request form. For any questions, please email Sara Scherper at education@wiquiltmuseum.com
About Lexy Ho-Tai:
Lexy Ho-Tai is an artist and educator who uses art to explore alternative ways of being in this world. Their practice is expansive and ever-changing, but often rooted in exploring human connection, otherness, our inner child and world building through craft, play, DIY, monsters and collaboration. Favourite projects include building and burning a wearable heartbreak monster, making a stop motion animation featuring tiny textile puppets of Lexy’s family, and creating a very pink, cozy brain fort that now lives in their living room. Lexy believes that everybody is an artist, and loves sparking people’s creativity!
