Class Description:
You will learn how to braid a circular chair pad from start to finish. This includes how to prepare the wool, make a T start, braiding, lacing and tapering the end to finish the piece. There will be a selection of wools, so your rug will be unique. (Original, one of a kind)
Kit Fee: $70, NOT included in class registration. Please bring cash/check to pay teacher directly.

Wool for braiding
Braid-Aids
Braid-Kin (lacing needle) (Bobkin)
Braid Klamp or large clamp (to hold braid to table)
Kilt Pin - 1 for holding a wool rolls - Tapestry needle - Blunt, for joining lacing thread
Thread - Lacing thread
Colored safety pins
Safety pins - Large for holding braid end
Safety pins - (3) Small for marking beginning and first turn
T-pins or plastic headed pins - To mark increases
Needle - Regular hand sewing needle
Thread - To match wool - Waxed hand sewing thread
Clothes pins

About the Artists:
Joyce Krueger has been creating braided rugs for 20 years and making hooked rugs for 51 years. She has taught rug braiding classes for approximately 15 years. Joyce teaches how to braid a rug or braiding around hooked rug. One of her rug hooked/braided rugs is featured in Combining Rug Hooking & Braiding published by Schiffer Publishing Ltd.
Sandy Kub has been braiding rugs for over 15 years. She has previously taught rug braiding classes for members of her rug hooking guild. She has made round and oval rugs using various techniques such as multi-strand braiding and rugs with fancy braided borders. Some of her creations include covered bowls and baskets with handles.
