Event rescheduled from March.
Learn how to hand block print a table runner using hand carved wooden blocks!
Join AMU for a fun afternoon of block printing at WMQFA. Get your hands messy by learning the oldest form of textile printing. During this workshop you will learn how to gather inspiration, to creating designs, to carving blocks, and then, finally, to printing. Each student will leave with their own hand-printed table runner, which will even make a wonderful holiday gift. There will be no fixed design template to recreate, but we will create patterns using various blocks. Bring a friend along for an afternoon of printing. Plus it will be awesome because you can play with paint and listen to me try to be funny.
Block printing is one of the oldest forms of textile printing. Block printing uses wooden blocks that are hand carved by artisans in India, to use as stamps to create prints on fabric.
