About the artists:
Susie Brandt is a Baltimore-based visual artist who works across textiles and other media to investigate time, utility, color, presence, absence, and the myths of landscape and identity. Her work recasts lost and found material culture into textile objects, performances, and installations.

Anchorage artist Amy Meissner combines traditional handwork, found objects, and abandoned textiles to reference the literal, physical, and emotional labor of women. By manipulating discarded household cloth to create 2-dimensional quilt-like forms and 3-dimensional objects, her work serves as a cultural nod to the embroidery created by the generations of Scandinavian women in her family, while also seeking to confront society’s frequent erasure of women’s handwork.
Lauren Sinner divides her time between fiber arts and improv comedy. She finds inspiration in punk music, botanical illustrations, childrens’ books, and comedy shows to create pieces that balance between comfort, humor, and her own struggles with mental health.
