The bluntly titled exhibition, In Death, will feature over twenty contemporary fiber artists from across the United States. From Deidre Scherer, Victoria Findlay Wolfe, Susan Lenz, Heidi Parkes and many other In Death features prominent and emerging fiber artists. Each piece in the exhibition exemplifies the superb ability of the artists while simultaneously exposing their deeply personal and unique perspectives as individuals on death and dying.

The gallery space is itself a testament to the passing of time as it is housed in our repurposed historic farmstead that dates back to the 1850s. During the run of In Death, the museum will be sponsoring various workshops, lectures, and events associated with the exhibition.

With the exhibit In Death, we will take a topic that affects everyone and use artwork to start conversations about different aspects of the subject. Art can be an outlet for doubts, fears, and regrets, but art can also help the viewer reflect and deal with those same feelings. When thinking about death, it is easy to focus on these doubts and fears, but it can also be an opportunity to celebrate life. It is our hope that by having this exhibit we can start conversations about the holistic nature of death.

In Death lays bare the realities and mysteries associated with the end of life. When art greets death, expect a transformation.
