The Children’s Art Show, featuring first place winners of the 2016 Ozaukee County Fair Art Contest, will run from August 18 to November 11 at the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts (WMQFA). Thirteen winners were selected out of the 827 pieces submitted by 4K-8th grade students attending school in Ozaukee County. This exhibit, sponsored by Partnership Bank, is free and open to the public. The main exhibit, the internationally acclaimed Quilt Nihon – Treasures from Japan, will run simultaneously.

“The Museum is proud to exhibit the children’s winning art; it is a fun activity showcasing a variety of quality art mediums,” stated Melissa Wraalstad, executive director of WMQFA.  “Plus, a big thank you to the exhibit sponsor Partnership Bank for making it possible to display the winning art.” Rahim Keval, credit analyst/portfolio manager at Partnership Bank added, “The Bank has a rich tradition of celebrating the arts in Ozaukee County, the level of creativity and talent shown in these student art pieces is amazing…who knows, this could be the first time exhibited for the next Picasso."

An invitation only reception and award ceremony will take place November 11, 2016 to celebrate the winning artists. The Ozaukee County Fair Board will present the awards with school administrators, teachers and family cheering on the students.
