WMQFA welcomes two new board members
Sewist and veteran teacher Mary Sue Fenner and business consultant, quilter and beader Barbara Gross have joined our board of directors.  Mary Sue is already helping out with our education programs, and will be staffing our booth at Wisconsin Sheep & Wool Festival.
Barbara has jumped in as a volunteer in our Museum Gift Shop and to help us prepare new policies and procedures as we move towards a more professionally managed business model.  Thanks for joining us!
 
 Ozaukee Youth Art on display in our lobby  
  
    For the second year, we are featuring award winning artwork from Ozaukee County schoolchildren. Winning artwork from the Ozaukee County Fair, will be on display in our lobby until November 13.   Over 850 pieces of artwork, from children in grades four-year-old kindergarden through eight, were submitted to the Ozaukee County Fair competition.  Thirteen pieces won awards.   Winners include:  Rebecca Babler, Our Savior Lutheran School; Samantha Holtmeier, Oriole Lane Elementary; Libby Holmes, Dunwidde Elementary; Isaac Schreiner, St. Francis Borgia Catholic School; Lillian Merow, Dunwidde Elementary; Isabella Zliehlke, Wilson Elementary; Amelia Eichmeier, Oriole Lane Elementary; Maya Middleton, Wilson Elementary; Johnathan Blaubach, St. Joseph's Catholic School; Pierson Connor, First Immanuel Lutheran School; Alexa Andrae, Homeschool; Rachael Schroer, St. Paul's Lutheran School; and Elizabeth Bieberitz, Calvary Lutheran School.

Focus on Fall UDays:  All About Wool, Oct. 3 Make this beautiful scrap wool pincushion at Fall UDays in a three-hour class taught by Terri Sankovitz.  You can also see Lyle Drier demonstrate techniques for making "Petal Pushers" (wool flowers).  These flowers can be made into pins or used to embellish other artwork. Museum Gift Shop Feature
We are now featuring coiled, hand-sewn fabric bowls and decorative pillows from Linda Sweek Designs.  This is another new, local artist we are including in our Gift Shop lineup.  All are one-of-a-kind -- hurry in for best selection.
