History & Marketing of Feed and Flour Sacks
Friday, November 11, 6 p.m.
In an effort to boost product sales, flour and feed producers printed colorful and sometimes elaborate designs on their product packaging. Industrious homemakers recycled these fabric sacks into quilts, clothing and other household items. Chris Motl will tell us all about this fascinating topic, and share some of the hundreds of examples she has in her collection. The lecture fee is $10. You can reserve your spot online at www.wiquiltmuseum.com, or purchase a ticket at the museum.
Quilt and Rug Documentation Day
Bring your quilts and hooked rugs to the WMQFA on Saturday, November 19, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For a fee of $5, our expert volunteers will create a permanent record of your fiber arts treasures. Quilts will be entered into the national Quilt Index database at no extra charge.
