Barn Blast 10/07/11 – Don’t Miss the Quilted Yurt!

Now through October 20, Linzi Upton’s creation is here in our Barn Gallery!

Linzi points to her clever painting technique

You’ll be amazed to see the yurt and its 25 unique panels. Two-thirds of these have been completed or quilted by Linzi herself! Others were made by her “stunt quilters” from around the world, with fabrics Linzi sent them.

Linzi’s passion is quilting. She loves simply pieced tops, which she quilts and paints. In the above panel, the purple circles look appliqued, but are actually stitched and then hand painted!

Linzi will be offering lectures (tonight at 7), a workshop, and an open house this Sunday. In her spare time, she’ll be demonstrating machine quilting on an APQS longarm.
